Aunt Katie is a hobby farmer, budding gardener, amateur seamstress, full-time auntie, and part-time whatever pays the bills. She currently works for her local school system and is taking courses from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to obtain a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS). She has a passion for children’s education and literacy, and she likes beautiful and/or hilarious picture books. She loves cats, coffee, and working with kids of all ages!

Anita Morra
Illustrator
Anita was born, raised, and currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has been doodling, drawing, and painting since she was very little and, now that she is an adult, she is a Graphic Designer who also teaches illustration techniques. She speaks both Spanish and English fluently, having studied English since she was a child. She loves cats, coffee, embroidery, rainy days, and crushing dried leaves in autumn. Paula Torreiro
Spanish Translator & Voice Actor
Paula Torreiro Pazo was born and raised in Galicia, Spain. She studied English at University and earned a doctorate in Asian American Literature. She lived in the US for four years working as a Spanish teacher at Appalachian State University, in North Carolina, and also at Cedar Shoals High School, in Athens, Georgia. Torreiro is fluent in Galician, Spanish, English, and French. She is currently an English professor at a public high school in Spain.
Patricia Lanners
German Translator & voice actor
Patricia Lanners is a full-time German and English professor. She currently resides, and teaches, in Cholula, Mexico with her husband. Lanners is fluent in English, German, and Polish. She is also working on her Spanish fluency. Lanners previously studied Russian, Yiddish, French, and Latin. She was born in Chicago, USA and grew up in the US, Poland, and Germany.
Gabrielle Motta-Passajou
French Translator & Voice Actor
Gabrielle Motta-Passajou is a senior lecturer in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Appalachian State University where she teaches courses in French and Spanish. She resides in Boone, Nc and has lived in the High Country for 25 years. Motta-Passajou is French-Brazilian and speaks fluent Portuguese. She is also a Mestra of Capoeira, a Brazilian Martial art.
Peter Leslie
Composer
Peter Leslie was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio before following his family down to the mountains of North Carolina. He is a talented pianist, singer, and composer. He has his bachelor’s in English from Wheaton College, and is working on his first break-out novel. Peter enjoys spending time at his family’s farm, reading YA novels, and learning new things about countries around the world.
David Johnson

David Johnson was born in the foothills of North Carolina in Wilkes County in 1954 to a family of regionally popular radio musicians. Both sides of his family represented a long line of stringed instrument builders and players in the area.David is proficient on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, dobro, bass, pedal steel guitar, harmonica, autoharp, viola, and cello.He brings his instrumental work to gospel, bluegrass, country, and other related recordings for artists not only in the continental United States, but from as far away as The Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic and parts of Africa as well.He is married to his wife of 42 years, Anne, and they have one son, Nathan.

Olivia Cécile Pelletier is a full-time French professor at Universidad de las Américas Puebla, México. She was born in La Rochelle and she studied applied linguistics in France. She worked in England for a year and in several universities in México as a French teacher since 2010. She is fluent in French and Spanish. Olivia loves cats and enjoys traveling and knowing new places.
