How much does the audio cost?
The audio accompaniments for all the books are entirely FREE! To download one, you must enter your email address to sign up for the email list. If you do not wish to join the email list, you can unsubscribe after you download your audio.

You can visit the shop to locate the audio you are interested in downloading.

Discounts for Schools and Libraries

Library Discounts (Public or School)
If a library purchases all 3 languages within a book series, then a 15% discount will be given at the time of purchase. Proof must be provided to show that purchaser works at the library and that the purchase is for the purpose of the library.
 
Library purchases will also receive several free gifts including: 16×20” Gracie poster, 8.5×11” Gracie poster, 4×8” table tent, and 20 Gracie bookmarks.

Lexile Measurement

Do your books have Lexile Measures?
Aunt Katie’s Place has worked with Meta Metrics Inc. to provide Lexile Level Measurements for our books. This means that your child may use the books from Aunt Katie’s Place to reach their AR Reading Comprehension goals at their school.

Orders

Can I cancel or adjust my orders?
We process/ship orders on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s. If your order has not yet been shipped, you may cancel or adjust items in your order. Personalized items may not be cancelled or adjusted (ex. signed copy of a book).
Once your order has shipped, you may not cancel or adjust your order.

Print on Demand

Where are your books printed/manufactured?
Currently, Aunt Katie’s Place has their books printed by Lightning Source Inc. This is a print-on-demand service located around the world. If you order a book from www.AuntKatiesPlace.com, your book was printed and manufactured within the USA. If you order a book from Amazon UK, your book will be printed and manufactured in the UK.
 
Because books are printed on demand, all books will differentiate slightly. Some books may have defects from the printer.
 
All books sold from Aunt Katie’s Place have been inspected by Aunt Katie’s Place for printing defects. Books sold from other sources (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.) are printed and shipped directly to the customer by Lightning Source Inc. These books are not eligible for replacement due to damage.

Do you offer price matching?
Not at this time. Our orders are print-on-demand, so other online retailers do not see the order before it is shipped. Aunt Katie’s Place checks every product by hand. So we do not price match to other retailers.

Returns and Refunds

What is your return policy?
At this time, Aunt Katie’s Place does not accept returns. You are welcome to cancel your order if it has not yet been shipped, but once an order has shipped it is no longer eligible to be cancelled/refunded.
 
How do I cancel my order?
If you would like to cancel your order, please email auntkatie@auntkatiesplace.com Subject: Cancel Order #(insert your order number here). In the body of your email, please include your statement of intent to cancel your order, your reason for cancelling, the order number you are cancelling, and the email you used to purchase the order. 
 
What if my order arrived damaged?

When will I receive my refund?
This is dependent on the payment gateway you used (PayPal or Stripe) and your credit card company. If you do not see your refund posted within two weeks of receiving a successful refund email, you should contact your bank/credit card company.

Sales Tax

What orders are subject to sales tax?
 All orders are subject to sales tax.
 
What, and how much, is taxed?
All items, including shipping charges, are taxed a 7% sales tax to satisfy the State of North Carolina.
 
What about organizations that are tax exempt?
If you are a tax exempt organization and are purchasing 10 or more products, please contact Aunt Katie’s Place to place your order by phone or email.

Purchases of less than 10 products must be made through the website, and therefore will not be eligible for tax exemption. 

School Visits

Can Aunt Katie visit our school as a visiting author?
Of course! Aunt Katie is happy to visit schools within a 2-hour radius of Lansing, NC for FREE! Schools located within a 3 to 5-hour radius will need to pay $400 to cover the cost of transportation and hotel. Schools outside of 5-hour radius will need to contact Aunt Katie’s Place to figure out pricing based on how many hours of driving would be required or whether plane flights would be necessary.
 
A school visitation would include a presentation about the creative process of making the books as well as green screen photos with a character from the book. If your school does not have a green screen, Aunt Katie will provide one for the duration of her visit. Photos will be taken using a green screen app and will be shared with the school via Google Drive or Dropbox.

Can Anita Morra visit our school as a visiting illustrator?
Anita is based out of Argentina. If you are able to cover the cost of her plane fare, her travel expenses for a week, and her hotel costs, then she might consider it!
 
Do you give pre-order discounts when you visit schools?
Yes! ALL pre-ordered books for Author Visits will also include a FREE bookmark. You may also choose one of the two pre-order options:
 
  1. All books ordered as a pre-order for an author visitation will be 20% off the purchase price.*
  2. All books ordered as a pre-order for an author visitation will be retail price, but the school library will receive 15% of the purchase price back in cash.*
*These are special discounts available only to schools who have Aunt Katie come as a visiting author. You may pick one of the two options. 

Shipping and Delivery

Do you offer free shipping?
At this time, Aunt Katie’s Place does not offer free shipping. Aunt Katie’s Place is a small business with small scale shipping needs. Shipping companies (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) do not offer large discounts to small scale businesses, so we are currently unable to offer large shipping discounts to our customers.
 
What is the cost of shipping?
Shipping costs differ for each customer. Shipping is calculated in real time by a Woo Commerce USPS shipping plugin. It is based on the weight of your purchase and the distance it will travel.
 
Where do you ship in the US? 
Shipping is offered to all 50 states in the USA. Your distance from our NC location may increase the price.
 
Do you offer international shipping?
At this time, Aunt Katie’s Place does not offer international shipping from www.auntkatiesplace.com. If you would like to purchase books internationally, you may visit one of our online print-on-demand international retailers. A list is provided below:

How do I track my order?
When your order has been shipped, Aunt Katie’s Place will send you a confirmation email with access to a tracking number. You may use that tracking number at www.USPS.com to follow the progress of your shipment.
 
When will I receive my order?
Orders are processed and shipped from our NC location on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s. We do not process/ship orders on weekends or holidays. Processing/shipping delays are possible due to extreme weather. After your order has been shipped, the speed of delivery will be based on the shipping company and the level of shipping service that you chose.
